I am often drawn towards the expression of mood or feeling in my figurative/portrait work. I love facial expressions and I'm fascinated by the way the slightest tilt of the head or, as in this case, downward glance can convey so much feeling and emotion.
This three quarter portrait of a young woman seems to suggest so much by its posture and body language. Here I imagine the cold light of day and the realisation of something significant having happened the previous evening.
