I love spiders. Beautiful themselves, they create their own works of incredible beauty with patient deadliness. I used the spider’s form as the basis for the other shapes, based very loosely around a web. I love the symmetry, the freshness and subtlety of the colours and the clean lines. Anyone who isn’t an arachnophobe will find the painting calming.
