In this self-portrait, I use gold and silver leaf to examine the face that time is changing, materials that are ancient and worn. I elevate age rather than conceal it, not as loss but as growth. Every face is a kind of costume, shaped by the roles we have played and I ask what it means to grow into oneself, and what beauty resides in a life lived.
