I'm always experimenting with mediums, and in this oil painting I used pastel shades for a golden autumn landscape.
I feel it's a bold, expressive landscape with rolling hills in vibrant greens, golds, and earthy tones beneath a brilliant azure sky with sweeping white clouds. A row of stylized trees anchors the foreground, creating a depth to the painting
I used a very stiff brush for the background fields for texture, but a pallet knife for the trees which are much softer, and also so I could scrape away paint to highlight the branches.
This contemporary piece captures the joy and warmth of a surreal countryside, and is perfect for adding colour and optimism to any space.
Signed on the front with extra detail on the side.
