{"product_id":"thoresby-hall","title":"Thoresby Hall","description":"Thoresby Hall - painting on canvas.\r\n  Thoresby Hall is a grade I listed 19th-century country house in Budby, Nottinghamshire.\r\n\r\nIt lies 2 miles north of Ollerton. It is one of four neighbouring country houses and estates in the Dukeries in north Nottinghamshire all occupied by dukes at one time during their history.\r\n\r\nThe house is now a hotel. It stands in Thoresby Park which has been owned by the Pierrepont family since 1600. The family has built 3 houses in the park, the first, a Jacobean mansion, was burnt down. \r\nThe second, designed by John Carr of York was demolished. This was to make way for Anthony Salvin’s design, which was built by the 3rd Earl Manvers in 1860. \r\nThe impressive Great Hall, with minstrels' gallery at the west end, is 62 feet long and 46 foot high. (This is where afternoon tea is now served. \r\nI can highly recommend it as an extravagant indulgence.) \r\n\r\nThe house descended to the 6th Earl who died in 1955 without a male heir and the title thereby became extinct. \r\nThe house was sold to the National Coal Board in 1979 to minimise a perceived threat from coal mining subsidence. \r\nThoresby Hall was sold on the open market ten years later. It was eventually acquired by Warner Leisure Hotels and opened as an hotel in 2000. \r\n\r\n\r\nThis painting would really look great hanging in any home or office.\r\n\r\nThis artwork is signed on the back.\r\n\r\nA signed Certificate Of Authenticity will be included with the painting.\r\n\r\nSize:  36\" x 24\"","brand":"KM Arts","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":55281106518307,"sku":null,"price":550.0,"currency_code":"GBP","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0979\/9401\/5011\/files\/thoresby-hall-01-nottingham-paintings_da33n_541040029.jpg?v=1782448937","url":"https:\/\/lovely.art\/products\/thoresby-hall","provider":"Lovely.art","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
