I painted this eye as something ancient — something that doesn’t just see, but knows.
The first thing I built was the darkness. That deep black background isn’t empty; it’s space, silence, the unknown. I wanted the eye to feel like it was emerging from it — suspended, almost floating — as if it has always existed there.
The scales came next. I chose that turquoise-green deliberately. It feels alive, electric, slightly unnatural. Each scale is outlined and patterned because I wanted texture — repetition that feels organic but also deliberate. The purples and darker tones inside the scales suggest depth, like layers of protection. This creature is armored, but beautifully so.
