The birds are so small and so beautiful! I have always been strongly attracted to this particular animal and wanted to paint it. But unfortunately, because I am a realist painter, not having any reference photographs of the bird made it impossible for me to paint or draw it. \r\n\r\nTo photograph kingfisher wasn't an option for me. I am not the best bird photographer and need the right equipment to do this job too. So I gave up on kingfishers. But one day, I saw Caroline Legg's beautiful work on flickr.com. I was impressed and surprised because she gives her photos to Creative Commons.\r\n\r\nTo be sure, I contacted her, and she was very friendly and confirmed it. I was able to create this drawing only because she is so generous. Thank you, Caroline!
