It was a bit choppy I remember, so I got some great reference shots as evening was closing in. Fantastic conditions for me anyway, wasn't sure if the others on the ferry felt the same!\r\n\r\nThe canvas began with a textured layer which I worked into with the acrylics. \r\nMy aim was to capture the scene as it was infront of me so to speak. \r\n\r\nI then decided to add more of a dynamic effect with a slightly yellowed light and a little more colour to the wave illumination, the foam, and the spray, to bring the painting \"up\", to add more atmosphere to it using references.\r\n\r\nThe painting has been varnished with Talens matt varnish, it maintains a slight sheen. The side are painted black acrylic.\r\n\r\nPostage:\r\nMy time is spent between Wales and Macedonia -spending 2 to 3 months a year in Wales (Pontypool my home town). It is likely that your painting will be sent from Macedonia with DHL who I have an account with and have been great to deal with.\r\nTo send art from Macedonia requires I get a ministry of culture document. I have been doing this for many years here, and usually takes 2 to 3 days to get it.\r\nAlthough carriage to you is free, any charges incurred at customs - import duty, VAT and any other handling charge is the liability of the customer.\r\n\r\nMy art:\r\nMy business is in the U.K, and much of my inspiration comes from the U.K shores for my seascapes which I specialize in.\r\nI have a background in portraiture and Illustration (college HND West Wales) so I like to paint various other subjects too including landscapes both in the studio and outdoors.\r\nI paint most effectively with oils and acrylics, enjoying watercolour and drawing now and then, to throw in mixed media works also. I also enjoy experimenting with styles, though mainly I paint realistically.\r\nI work mainly on canvas, but enjoy also panels which are quite useful for painting outdoors too.\r\n\r\nAbout me:\r\nMy last college was HND design\/wildlife Illustration part of Carmarthen college in 1994. Between then and 2003 I created various artworks including portraiture and murals, specializing in graphite pencil at that time.\r\nIn 2003 I began the process of learning to paint with oils and the subject of J Class yachts under the guidance of an excellent artist for 2 years. Soon after those 2 years I began to exhibit my seascape art in the U.K and Internationally.
